How to use it

Helpful tips

  • Flattened fields become page content and cannot be edited again.
  • XFA, digital signatures, and permission-restricted fields may not be editable.
  • A scanned image is not an interactive form; use PDF Signature or OCR instead.

Frequently asked questions

Which fields are supported?

Common AcroForm text, checkbox, dropdown, radio, and option fields are supported. Buttons and existing signature fields are not rewritten.

What does flatten mean?

Flattening fixes field appearances onto the page so PDF readers no longer treat them as editable fields.
